While I have not visited the Second Wind Retreat, several patients from our facility have and rave about it! They tell other patients about how refreshing their visit was, how they were able to "get away" from all that they are dealing with and enjoy nature and the delicious pound cakes that guests receive. We appreciate all that you do for our patients and feel blessed to have such a wonderful resource to share with them. Thanks as always, Kelly Stancil RC Cancer Centers

Second Wind is such a huge blessing to cancer survivors! My husband, daughter and I visited shortly after my cancer surgery. It couldn't have come at a better time! I had just finished 7 days of complete isolation from a radiation treatment so strong that I couldn't be around anything living. Visiting such a beautiful place really helped get my mind off of what I had been through. I was able to reconnect with my family and feel "alive" again! What Marti, the founder, has done for me and my fellow cancer survivors is priceless, simply priceless. Cancer tends to make you feel like you aren't even human anymore, and Second Wind Retreats' fresh air and beautiful mountain surroundings remind you that you are! Thank you Marti and Second Wind for giving me and my beautiful family a second wind! All my best,Tiffany Krumins

April 9,2012 My husband and I just returned from a wonderful stay at Second Wind. It truly was a "second wind".The beautiful scenery inside and out. Words cannot describe it. Also the delicious pound cake provided by Nancy. 2011 was an overwhelming whirlwind, with Bobs' diagnosis of myeloma, chemo treatments, stem cell transplant. Thank you, Marti, for giving us such a blessing. Our words cannot adequately express our gratitude! We pray that God will continue to bless you, Marti, and Second Wind, that other cancer patients will be able to visit here. Bob & Karen Hill Adrian,Mi.

Second Wind is truly a sanctuary for survivors, patients, and caregivers. My mother and I (both cancer patients) were able to spend 4 days in this healing, calm, peaceful place -- enjoying the scenery, walking in the rain, and just generally being quiet with each other and gentle with ourselves. Time is of the essence in the cancer "battle," but Second Wind, Marti and all the people that have contributed their time and energies to this home help us remember that time has a value at its slowest pace, too. We can't thank you enough for the opportunity to visit! It will always hold a special place in my memory.
